Serious Whisk(e)y Dinner at Rail Stop
Nick Taylor and Jason Cousins will canvas two pioneers, Westland and Bruichladdich, over dinner at Rail Stop. The food will be terrific; we'll be in a private room, but most importantly, the whisk(e)y list is seriously awesome.
The whisk(e)ys will include:
- Westland American Oak
- Westland Sherry Wood
- Westland Peated Malt
- Westland's newest Peat Week*
- Bruichladdich Classic Laddie
- Port Charlotte Scottish Barley
- The brand new Octomore 8.3**
- The new Bruichladdich Black Art 5.1***
*The Westland Peat Week is a highly allocated annual release usually reserved for the Seattle market only. It is limited production with only 1500 bottles produced from 7 of the best casks at Westland, bottled at 54.4% ABV.
**The Octomore 8.3 is the newest Octomore release with a phenol count of 309ppm. Bottled at 61.2% ABV, this is a smoky savage that will keep you warm for the rest of the year.
***Lastly, the Bruichladdich Black Art 5.1 is the marquee Bruichladdich expression. Vintage 1992, this 24 year is a combination of the very best casks produced before closing for six years in 1994. Bottled at 48.4% ABV, this expression is stunning.
We will serve a 3-course dinner:
First Course: Caramelized acorn squash, toasted barley, crispy heritage breed pork belly and cranberry
Second Course: Certified black angus NY strip, cauliflower, Peruvian potato and shallot jam
Desert: Chocolate Macaron with a citrus filling
Come hungry, come thirsty and come ready for a great time.
